There are many great things that came out of the 90s. Friends, PlayStation, Harry Potter… the World Wide Web. But while it’s fun to reminisce, there are some things from the 90s that definitely should have stayed in the twentieth century. Take bathroom design, for example. Pink everything. Linoleum floors. Tiny tiles with impossible-to-clean grout. No, thank you!
With three teenagers living at home, and limited space, this family decided it was time to bring their 90s bathroom into the present.
The tiny shower in this bathroom was completely walled in from all sides. And in a bathroom with such large windows and natural light, it felt like such a waste. We took the whole thing out and replaced it with a large, open, tiled shower space with a glass enclosure. Our next focus was the vanity area. While there was plenty of beautiful pink counter space, there really wasn’t much storage available for all three teenagers who shared this bathroom. This meant that everything inevitably ended up on the countertop. Go figure. We installed a brand new quartz countertop and a custom-built vanity that provided more effective storage options.
The final decision for our clients was whether or not to keep their pink claw foot tub. Considering it required significant new plumbing work, and hadn’t been used in years, they decided to ditch the tub and opt for more floor space instead.
The results speak for themselves! We took this cluttered 90s bathroom and turned it into a beautiful, trendproof space that will continue look beautiful for decades to come.
