At Devine Bath, we get lots of calls from clients in the Portland and Seattle areas whose bathrooms are in desperate need of an update, but don’t always have the time or resources to take on a complete bathroom remodeling project. We are here to help! Sometimes all it takes is a few simples changes to bring your bathroom out of the ‘70s and into the present.
hese clients knew they wanted to update their guest bathroom, but felt overwhelmed by the prospect of a total gut and replace. We set them up with an in-home consultation with one of our local Portland designers to discuss their main points of concern, along with their vision for the space and a budget they felt comfortable with.
We started by addressing our clients’ biggest pet peeve about this bathroom: the mustard yellow color found in the sink, toilet, tub, and accent tile — not to mention the wallpaper. Their designer made a few recommendations that suited their style and budget. The layout of the bathroom didn’t need to change in order to create the fresh, new bathroom that our clients envisioned. It also didn’t necessarily need any major changes to the vanity area. It had great storage options already and a nice big mirror that helped make the room feel more open.
The tub was re-finished in a classic white color, and we put in a brand new sink and toilet to match. Next, we updated the shower by removing the old glass sliding door, installing a white subway tile plus a brand new shower head and plumbing fixtures.
In the vanity area, we upgraded the faucet fixtures to match the shower, and installed a brand new light fixture above the mirror. We finished the room out with brand new floor tile, some nice new towel racks and hooks, and of course we removed every last scrap of that old wallpaper!
